Fine-tuning a perfect beer.
Passion is the difference between acceptable and greatness. Without it, Georgia O’Keefe would’ve just been some lady who painted pictures, Mozart some guy who wrote ditties, and Kanye West just a jerk. But passion – that makes all the difference. That’s why when you have an ale brewed by someone who really loves beer you can tell. That’s exactly what you get at Calibration Brewery in North Kansas City.
The latest brewpub to open in the growing microbrew hotspot north of the river, Calibration offers beers pleasing to every palette. I’d suggest you start off with the Beast in Me Brown Ale. With a complex caramel aroma and a hint of chocolate, it’s the perfect beer to pair with a chilli cheese dog from their menu.
I also love the Compared to What Scottish Ale. Successfully avoiding the trap that lots of brewers fall into trying to create a Scottish Ale, it’s not too sweet, but is perfectly creamy and delicious. Nitrogen-carbonated, it has just a hint of stone fruit, making it completely drinkable and enjoyable whether it’s the depths of winter or the dog days of summer. Pair it with the Calibration Gyro or Balsamic-marinated Chicken Sandwich for a perfect meal.
If this doesn’t strike your fancy, Calibration Brewing has lots more to choose from, both beer and food. And whatever you get, you’re sure to love it. Because the people who make it love it. And that’s the secret ingredient.
