This ain’t your daddy’s beer.
Remember the dark ages of beer? Back about 20 years ago when your only choices were flavorless domestic lagers (insert NSFW Monty Python joke) or over-priced and not particularly interesting imports? Thankfully the craft beer revolution has changed all that. Today’s brewers are limited only by their skill and imagination. Take for example, Roughtail Brewing Company.
One of the foremost brewers on Oklahoma City’s exploding microbrewery scene, Roughtail lives by the motto “Beers with character.” And they have character in spades.
Start off with the Everything Rhymes with Orange IPA. Perfectly walking the line between sweet and hoppy, it has a pleasant bitterness offset by waves of citrus. It’s the kind of IPA that’s juicy enough to refresh on even the hottest Oklahoma summer days, while still offering the kind of bite IPA fans have come to expect.
Or maybe you’re in the mood for something lighter, in which case, the Little Blue Pils is the beer for you. Perfect with a burger, on the deck with friends, or as a refresher while you’re cutting the grass, it’s an unsophisticated beer that just tastes great. Pale and frothy, it goes down easy and will make cracking a second, or third, or fifth easy.
With a handful of year-round brews, Roughtail also offers a variety of seasonals to match your mood and the weather. These beers tend to be single-run only, so to get a taste of Homie Hookup (a collaboration with Central Standard Brewing), E-juice (a fruity brew made with blueberries, boysenberries and blackberries) or Oats n’ Hoes (insert NSFW Step Brothers video), head on over to their taphouse today. Or if you’re lucky enough to be located near one of the bars and restaurants in Oklahoma or Wichita that has Roughtail on tap, be sure to ask for it.
Oh, and did I mention they have the coolest cans in the history of beer? Pick up a sixer, you won't be disappointed.
